Vendel & de Wolf is a Dutch artist duo who, since the early 2000s, have been working at the intersection of technology, poetry, and spatial design. Their works shift between the monumental and the intimate – always with human presence at the centre. With backgrounds in sculpture, design, and installation, they create light works that are not only meant to be seen – but felt. Through simple forms and repetitive movements, they build atmospheric experiences in public space. Light becomes both material and messenger. What unites their practice is the desire to awaken presence – to invite the viewer to pause, listen, and perhaps feel a little more grounded in their surroundings. In Fluxit, this takes shape as a modern campfire – a space for silence, conversation, and togetherness. Vendel & de Wolf’s works have been presented at light festivals and art venues across Europe – often in dialogue with the history and architecture of the site.
