Pelle, the tail-less protagonist of Gösta Knutsson’s children’s books, is probably the most famous cat in Sweden, and a proud resident of Uppsala for the past 80 years. In 2012, Pelle was given his own sculpture created by artist Kristina Jansson and displayed in the City Gardens. During the Uppsala Light Festival, Pelle will be illuminated to give an impression that he is chasing fireflies in the darkness, and leaving bright footsteps.

Lighting design by Stina Marsh, Bjerking in cooperation with artist Kristina Jansson and the City of Uppsala
