The masks symbolise people, in particular around travel centres that are a cluster of humans and the masks we wear. We all don different masks and roles at work, in meetings, in life. The masks symbolise the theatre that simultaneously paralyses us but is also essential for society to function. What happens if we take off our masks? The ringing noise created by the masks in the wind is reminiscent of the music that occurs when people stop moving and look through. The theatre masks are also associated with Ingmar Bergman’s 100th anniversary.
